All About Me
Welcome to my online portfolio! Before you immerse yourself in the contents of this site, allow me to tell you a little about myself:
My family roots run deep in and around West Texas. For four generations, we have run cattle and horses in the Texas Panhandle. Being raised in an area rich with agriculture gave me an appreciation for farmers and ranchers at an early age. Working alongside my family, I learned the importance of hard work, dedication and determination. My desire to stay connected to the agriculture industry took me 165 miles south, into the land of the Red Raiders, where I spent the next seven years pursuing a bachelor's and master's degree in Agricultural Communications, and a minor in Animal Science, all while competing on the Texas Tech Ranch Horse team. It was during my time on the ranch horse team that I fell in love with the sport of reining and reined cowhorse competitions.
While working on my bachelor's degree, I developed a passion for photography that took me on a study abroad adventure to Australia, where I learned the basics of photography and photoshop. I continued to expand my skills with the camera with extra courses back at home, while also learning the basics of layout and design, videography, writing and marketing concepts. The year I spent obtaining my master's degree helped me to expand my knowledge of the communications field, as well as allowed me to share my knowledge with undergraduates.
In July of 2018 I married my husband Eric and we settled in the big city of Guthrie, Texas, where he works as the stallion manager for the 6666 ranch and I balance life as a stay-at-home mom to our two children with occasional work as a freelance photographer, while helping a few small livestock businesses with their social media and online presence.
